| Submit sites that contain tricks, tips, reviews, models, or discussion about the yo-yo toy. |
The Century's Most Popular ToyWhile yo-yos can be traced back to over 500BC, the modern yo-yo has it's roots with a man named Pedro Flores in the mid 1920s. It's popularity soared when Donald Duncan took over the Flores Yo-Yo Company, and renamed it to Duncan Yo-Yos. Donald Duncan made the yo-yo into what it is today, one of the most popular toys of modern times. A&E declared that the yo-yo was the most popular toy of the century, and with it's recent resurgence, the supporting evidence is daunting.

Submit sites dealing with past, present, and future yo-yo events. This can include lists of multiple events, official contest sites, and pictures and commentary from past events.
Those pages dealing with mostly with a particular club or organization should go to Clubs and Associations category instead, unless there is a page totally devoted to an event. If a club page has multiple sub-pages about different contests, it would be better to just submit the main page to Clubs and Associations instead of adding links to every page in here. |

Submit sites that are articles relating to yo-yos in some way. While there can be exceptions, this is primarily articles written from the outside by members of the press.
For example, some commentary after the fact by people participating in a contest would be better submitted to Events, while a reporter interviewing people at a contest would go here. Pages with news of upcoming events would also go to Events or Clubs and Associations. Links to message boards and other interactive discussions of topics, while generally a good source of news, have their own Chat and Bulletin Boards category, and should be submitted there instead. |
This category contains articles written about yo-yos in general, particular people, the fad aspect, financial conditions, contests, or any other related topic.
