General and personal sites devoted to the Aircooled VW are welcome including resource, community, pictorial, informational, and business sites that do not meet the following restrictions:

Categorized Models: Aircooled Volkswagen sites devoted to a listed model subcategory should be submitted there.
Subcategories: Sites which fit a subcategory of a model or Aircooled in general should be submitted there.
General Volkswagen: Volkswagen sites which are not restricted to Aircooled vehicles (please see following description) should be submitted to Volkswagen.
General Vehicle: Automobile sites which are not restricted to Volkswagen should be submitted to the appropriate subcategory of Autos.
Clubs: Volkswagen club sites should be submitted to Volkswagen Clubs.
Dealers: Auto dealership sites should be submitted to the proper location in Regional.
Online Shopping: Sites selling products or services with listed prices and online ordering should be submitted to the appropriate subcategory of Vehicle Shopping.
Offroad Vehicles: Sites relating to dune buggies and sand rails should be submitted Offroad Vehicles.
Automobilia: Sites with information about VW collectibles in general should be submitted to Automobile Theme Collectibles. Sites with information about VW toys in particular should be submitted to the appropriate subcategory of Toy Car Collectibles. Sites selling collectibles and toys should be submitted to Toy Car Shopping.
Aircooled Volkswagens are motor vehicles manufactured by Volkswagen which have aircooled, as opposed to watercooled, engines.

These include (with model numbers in parenthesis):

Type 1: Beetle (11x), Super Beetle (13x), Karmann Ghia (14x), Fridolin (147), Beetle Convertible (15x), Schwimmwagen (16x) and Thing, Safari, Kübel[wagen], or Trekker (18x)

Type 2: Panel Truck (21x), Standard Microbus (22x and 28x), Kombi (23x), Deluxe Microbus or Samba (24x and 25x), Pickup Truck (26x) and Ambulance (27x)

Type 3: Fastback (311), Notchback (315), Squareback (361), and Type 3 Karmann Ghia (34x)

Type 4: Station Wagon (411) and Sedan (412)

"Personal", "Author" or "Enthusiast" in descriptions indicates a focus on an individual's experience with his or her aircooled.

Beetle

Aircooled Volkswagen Beetle (model 11x), Super Beetle (model 13x) and Beetle Convertibles (model 15x) sometimes called the VW "Bug".

Production started in West Germany in 1945 and continues in 2001 in other countries. Similar models were manufactured before 1945, but not by the Volkswagen company.

Karmann Ghia

Thing

Aircooled Volkswagen Trekker (model 182) and model 181 sold in various locations as the Thing, Safari and Kübel[wagen]. Note that the type 16x Schwimmwagen is in Aircooled.
