Top: Kids_and_Teens: Games

Please read the following carefully before suggesting a site to any Kids_and_Teens category, and note that no site is guaranteed placement or review.

Kids_and_Teens is for audiences 18 and under. Please note that this directory is for kids and not about kids.

  • If any portion of your site contains profanity, obscenities, and/or sexually-explicit content, do not submit it to Kids and Teens. Submission could result a permanent ban from the whole directory.

  • Sites intended for a general audience may be accepted in Kids_and_Teens provided they are appropriate for individuals ages 18 and under.

  • Sites containing chat rooms, discussion forums, or any other interactive content will be listed only if the interactive content complies with Kids and Teens guidelines.

  • Sites must not be under construction, submitted to multiple or inappropriate subcategories, or offer online sales. Note that commercial sites may possibly be added by editor discretion if they offer significant non-commercial content, but suggesting them here is very likely to lead to deletion without review.
  • If you believe your site complies with these guidelines, you are welcome to suggest it once to the single most appropriate category, but remember,

    failure to follow these guidelines will result in the deletion of your suggestion.
    The Games category is for sites that contain games or information about games that can be played by kids and/or teens. It does not list sites that sell games.

    Board Games

    Site which sell games are not listed here.

    This category is for sites about board games which tell about the history of the game, give instructions on strategy, or are helpful to kids or teens wanting to learn about the game in some other way.

    Card Games

    Sites submitted to this site should be informational in nature. We do not list sites which focus on shopping in the Kids and Teens directory.

    This category is for sites which talk about card games. Most of the games listed here will be games that can be played with a standard 52-54 card deck.

    Computer and Video

    Sites submitted at this level should be about all video games, or be sites about video games that do not yet have their own subcategories.

    If your site is about one particular video game or series, please look through the subcategories until you can find the best place to submit your site. Submitting your site in the right place will get it listed a lot quicker.

    The content of sites submitted must be suitable and of interest to children under the age of 18. Please read the FAQ for details on what we list.

    Please do not submit any sites that sell video games, or contain a large number of Amazon affiliate links.

    Computer and Video games are electronic games played using a video screen such as monitor or a TV. They involve one or more people playing against a computer or each other. These games can be played on computers and video game consoles such as those made by Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Nokia, and Microsoft.

    Dice

    Websites primarily about Dice Games can be submitted to this category. Please submit websites about board games to Kids_and_Teens/Games/Board_Games/.

    The content of any website submitted to Kids and Teens must be suitable and of interest to young people (under the age of 18).

    We do not list the following types of websites in Kids and Teens:

    • Sites which provide adult oriented content.
    • Commercial websites (e.g. online stores).
    • Websites made up of affiliate links.
    • Websites aimed at adults about children.
    • Websites that are under construction, or that provide little content.

    Hand-Eye Coordination

    Sites about Hand-Eye Coordination games can be submitted to this category, as long as the content is suitable to children under the age of 18.

    Sites whose main focus is selling games or other products will not be listed here.

    Games that can be played online with a web browser. Some require semi-standard browser components such as Java, JavaScript, or Shockwave, but all are playable through the web browser.

    Outdoor and Yard Games

    Websites about outdoor and yard games can be submitted to this category.

    The content of any website submitted to Kids and Teens must be suitable and of interest to young people under the age of 18.

    Sites listed in this category provide instructions for playing paper and pencil games.

    Games played by making marks on paper, whether these are symbols, numbers, or drawings, such as Tic Tac Toe, Dots and Boxes, Hangman, Sprouts, Battleship, or Nim.

    Party Games

    All sites submitted here must be appropriate for kids and teens. Please note that this category is for games played at parties. Commercial sites that are geared towards selling things OR organizing parties will not be listed here.
    This category is for games played at parties. It has sites which are written for children and teens under the age of 18 to read themselves.

    Rhymes and Counting

    This category is for sites that provide information about counting-out games. Examples of sites suitable for this category include instructions on how to play the games and collections of rhymes. Sites must be appropriate to the interests of kids of teens.

    A counting-out game is a simple game intended to select a person to be "it," often for the purpose of playing another game.

    Trading Card Games

    Sites related to ALL trading card games can be submitted to at this level, as long as the content of the sites is suitable to children under the age of 18.

    This category covers all collectible card games (known as CCGs) such as Magic, Mythos, Star Wars etc. It also includes games of a similar nature, even if they aren't strictly speaking collectible - XXXenophile, the newer INWO expansions, etc. As a rule of thumb, any game that involves professionally-printed cards (i.e. not standard playing cards) should be in here.

    Word Play

    Please submit sites here that are about word and language play, as well as word games, aimed at audiences 18 years old and under.
