This category is for Alcoholics Anonymous and it is not for "generic Twelve Step recovery" web sites.

Most listings within a state sub-category will have a lot about A.A. meetings and activities within that state. If a site such as one by a delegate area or an intergroup has substantial information about two adjacent states, it may be better to double-list it in the two state categories instead of the United_States directory level.

For a site does not cover a complete state, users may be helped if the Title and Description identify which part of the state it does cover in terms they recognize.

Suggestion to webmasters:
Many A.A. members want to be able to recognize web sites that are actually run by recognized A.A. service entities. Therefore, if your site is an activity of an A.A. delegate area, district, intergroup, central office, or A.A. answering service, it would be helpful to identify that service entity somewhere on at least the home page where it is easy to spot. If that is done, it is reasonable to end the Description with something like, "By Serenity County Intergroup."

more information (editors only)

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of people who, at some point, lost control of their drinking. Most members follow what is called a Twelve Step program of recovery. This sub-category is for web sites about Alcoholics Anonymous within one specific state. Most of the pages selected will be operated by recognized A.A. service entities. (That is not a rule.)
