Games which are strongly inspired by the Elite series, but are not release versions of the game, nor ports/remakes of an original title in the series. They are typically non-commercial and/or amateur projects.
The goal of the Elite Project is to produce a game similar in style to Elite. The project is volunteer based, formed by fans on usenet in 1996. Often referred to as TEP.
