Published by Cheapass Games. For 3-7 players and takes about 1 hour to play.

Mystery of the Abbey

Designed by Bruno Faidutti and Serge Laget. For 3-6 players (best with 4 according to the rules). Published by Multisim in French. Original name is "Meurtre à l'abbaye". The old version is known as "Murder at the Abbey", but was never published in English.

The new edition is published by Days of Wonder 2003 and is named "Mystery of the Abbey" in English, "Mystère à l'abbaye" in French, and "Das Geheimnis der Abtei" in German. There are just minor changes to the board and the rules in the new edition.

A strongly themed game, build to tell a story. the poor brother Adelme has been murdered by one of his fellow monks, and the players are trying to find the culprit. All the elements of the game - places (confessional, chapel, scriptorium, library, chapter hall, parlor...), action cards (books), events - are linked to the theme .
