About the International Conference on Peace and Human Security Media - The Center for Peace and Human Security is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization serving as a catalyst and facilitator for peace and human security initiatives globally. CPHS concentrates its activities in three interrelated areas: conflict transformation, sustainable development and human rights, and international justice. The Center's conflict transformation initiatives foster the integration of individual autonomy and compassion in the areas of violence prevention, dispute resolution, reconciliation, and coexistence. The Center's initiatives for sustainable development and human rights serve as a bridge from human rights advocacy to the implementation of rights through capacity building and development to human rights monitoring. The Center's international justice initiatives focus on issues including, but not limited to, transitional justice, institution building, and global economic and environmental responsibility. In each of these program areas, CPHS designs contextualized, elicitive approaches that draw on the experiences, wisdom, and practices of local communities.
