Despite attempts to crush the Biggest Luzer award, we were able to hold this award by alternative means this year. Which is good, because it's nice to have an award I can win. ;-) In keeping with tradition, I took runner-up in the "Most Appreciated Tool Creator" award.
Two of my tools were nominated for the "Best Editor Tool" category: "Find Updates" (which was mis-described as "Find Unreviewed" for some reason) and the "RSS Checker." Both lost miserably.
I was nominated for the "Special Achievement Award" for "keeping the ODP Squirrels in line (and on-line)" -- just doing my job, ma'am.
Finally, in another apparent tradition, I was nominated along with donwiebe for the "Cutest Couple" award. But this time we came last. The voters are a fickle bunch.
The Worldlinkerator finally won best editor produced tool. :) donwiebe and myself won 'cutest couple', which is... scary. Lost most appreciated tool creator by one vote, darn. ;)
The Nottingham Editor Meet-up came runner-up in the Best Editor Get-together category, and since I was one of the six (seven) people there, I think I'll include that here too.
"To rpfuller who modified the catlogs, so that we are able to see new perms as well as new apps." was nominated in the special achievement award, and didn't win, which, whilst nice to be nominated for, was a bit unfair to real volunteers. :) I was disqualified from "Most Reliable Editor" for being staff.
"rpfuller and dlugan for fixing our software" was runner-up in the special achievement award, which is a bit dodgy, but, too late to worry about that now. "rpfuller for fixing the ghost reds problem." was a nominee in the special achivement award. rpfuller and donwiebe were nominated for cutest couple. (eh?)
"rpfuller - "For exceeding 200,000 edits! - under 4,000 short of a quarter million!"" was nominated for the special achivement award. The "Category Spell Checker", "Last Edits", and "Search 2" were nominated for best editor produced tool. "rpfuller and newwave" were, somewhat disturbingly, nominated for "best couple", as were "rpfuller and chris2001" and "rpfuller and donwiebe."
The Worldlinkerator and "Last Edits" were nominated for best editor produced tool.
How Not to Design a Web Site won the most unique (sic) use of Bookmarks award.
I was also nominated for best meta, best editor produced tool (Worldlinkerator and Category Spell Checker), biggest luzer, and "editor I most want to meet in person." Myself and donwiebe were nominated for cutest couple, for reasons that escape me.
"rpfuller for outstanding contributions as an editor, toolmaker, and meta." and "both rpfuller and dlugan for exceptional tools." were nominated for the Special Achievement Award. The "Multiple @linkerator" was nominated for Best Editor Produced Tool, and to this day I have no idea what that actually is, but it must be good if it got nominated. :)
I was also nominated for most helpful, best meta, best Regional/ editor, most ubiquitous editor, biggest luzer, most evil meta, and cutest couple along with newwave.
"All the editors involved in the 'altlang' feature - especially newwave, rpfuller, and cptginyu" came runner up, in the Special Achievement Award. Search 4, by newwave, featuring ChibiRobo technology by rpfuller, won in the Best Editor Produced Tool category.
Nominated "Most Congenial Editor" and "Best Regional Editor"
