English 8 Octopus Scheme - Program developed for Hong Kong students aims to comprehensively enhance students' English language skills including grammar, reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Hong Kong Flora and Vegetation - Discusses plant diversity and adaptations and how plants improve the air and water quality, prevent soil erosion and water runoff, and provide food and shelter for the local fauna. Includes information on plant study sites and trails chosen by the Quality Education Fund.
Hong Kong Observatory - Government weather forecast service offers meteorological services for land, aeronautical and marine audiences. Also provides services in climate, radiation, time standard, seismology, oceanography, astronomy and promotes public preparedness for disasters.
Music Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department - The Music Office was established in 1977 by the Government. It strives to promote knowledge and appreciation of music, especially to young people, through instrumental and ensemble training, and a variety of music activities. It has come under the management of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department since January 2000. At present, the Music Office runs some 800 training classes in both Chinese and Western musical instruments for about 5,000 students every year. To promote interest in music, it also organises outreach interest courses for people of all ages. In addition, it manages and trains 18 youth orchestras, bands and choirs, and organises the Hong Kong Youth Music Camp, Youth Music Interflows, a large variety of music promotional activities, and international music exchange programmes for youth.
