Forum Information

(Thanks to Dpollock!)

"The title should be either the company's name or, where it seems more appropriate, that of the site itself -- and no more than this. In other words, phrases like "Welcome to ..." and "Your friendly/local ..." are both superfluous and destined for deletion. In turn, the Description should be free of personal pronouns and worded the way an observer and/or reviewer of the site would describe it and its content. Thus "Our mission is to serve your needs" needs altering to something like "Company's emphasis is on customer service." In effect, the title and description should simply let people know who's at the back of it and what information it contains or conveys."

more information (editors only)

The purpose of this category is to help new editors find what they are looking for in a timely manner. I suggest you come here before posting a new topic in the forum, or you can do a forum search.

If for any reason people would like a particular thread taken out with a reason, I will gladly hear you out. The last thing I want this category to do is to humiliate other editors. Please notify me if at all you want a particular thread taken out due to some disrespect it may inflict on a particular editor.

I am hoping to get a priority sort on my bookmarks for the years of 1998-2001 so that a date will be set along with each thread to notify the date in which the thread began.

Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you will find this category to be of some use.

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with any opinions that may be reflected in all of the threads gathered. Furthermore, while forum threads can be useful, please note that they do not necessarily reflect the ODP guidelines or staff opinion. Additionally, forum threads may become out of date. I will try to delete forum threads that have become irrelevant or modified due to time, but please note that I cannot cover them all. Just be cautious and use good common sense and taste before you immediately jump to a conclusion. While threads are intended to be useful, at times they may also no longer apply to current situations.
