An effort will be made to include all screenwriting contests, competitions, awards and prizes in this category with the following five exceptions:
1. No foreign languages. English only.
2. No so-called "contests" that are merely "draws". To be included, a contest must be judged on the writing quality of entries. Random lucky draws are not contests.
3. Sites maintained with an excessive number of pop-ups will be excluded.
4. Sites that are unresponsive or restricted or close down for a period longer than four weeks will be removed. If a site changes hands, it may also be removed if the site's original contest content is not maintained or improved. 5. In view of the large number of screenwriting contests that disappear after their inaugural run, such contests will not normally be listed in The Open Directory until they have a proven track record for reliability. Contests sponsored or endorsed by major studios will be exempted from this rule.
