Veronica Mars is a new show for fall 2004 that airs Tuesday nights at 9:00 pm on UPN. Veronica is in her junior year at Neptune High, in the fictional seaside town of Neptune, California. Once one of the popular crowd, she is now a pariah to her classmates. In the fall of her sophomore year, her best friend Lilly Kane was murdered. Her father, Sheriff Keith Mars suspected Lilly's father, Jake Kane of involvement. Jake Kane loudly proclaimed his innocence, and the town turned on Keith (and by association, Veronica). Keith lost his job, Veronica lost her friends, and Lianne, Keith's wife and Veronica's mother, left town.
