Degrassi is a Canadian series that began in the early 80's as "Kids of Degrassi Street". As the characters aged, the show was changed to focus on junior high school aged children, and was called "Degrassi Junior High", then "Degrassi High". A final episode called "School's Out" was a 1 hour special wrapping up the lives of the characters after graduation. The show dealt with many issues of importance to kids and teens.

Currently the original producers have again joined forces to produce "Degrassi: The Next Generation" focusing on a new group of kids at Degrassi Community School, include Degrassi Junior High/High alumna Spike's daughter Emma.
