Melissa Ellen Gilbert (*1964 in Los Angeles, CA) is an American actress who has performed in more than 50 films since 1970s.
Her best known appearances include Laura Ingalls in "The Little House on the Prairie" (1974-1982), Anne Frank in "The Diary of Anne Frank" (1980), Dr. Lisa DaVito in "Killer Instinct" (1988), Kate Delacroy in TV series "Sweet Justice" (1994), Zoya in "Zoya" (1995), Rebecca in "The Soul Collector" (1999), and Jo Ellen Hathaway in "Sanctuary" (2001). Her most famous guest appearance is probably Anna Sheridan in TV series "Babylon 5" (1996).
She has also directed three movies, the latest of them "Under the Mimosa" (2002).
