    Born November 13, 1969 in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

    Perhaps best known for starring as the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera", he has also performed in "Reign of Fire" (2002) and "Dear Frankie" (2004). Butler's next scheduled film release is Frank Miller's "300" where he will play Spartan King Leonidas.

    Television work includes "The Jury" (2002), "Little White Lies" (1998) and "The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star" (1998).

    Gerard Butler graduated from the University of Glasgow with an honors law degree.
