Born in Georgia on Dec. 12, 1918, and raised in Chicago, Joe Williams died at age 80, on March 29th, 1999. Known for his fluid baritone, Williams became a hit in 1955 when he recorded "Everyday I Have the Blues" with Count Basie, and their association lasted seven years.
An Emmy and Grammy Award winning vocalist who has performed with a wide range of jazz greats like Nat King Cole, Billy Eckstein, and Cannonball Adderley. Known for her smooth vocal style, Wilson also crosses over into pop and r&b and has acted in films and television.
