Jazz musician Miles Davis spanned six decades of jazz music and American culture. He began playing bebop with Charlie Parker in the 1940s and forged his own highly individualistic style until his death in 1991.He weaved his way through bebop, "cool" jazz, hard bop, modal music, fusion, pop, and some unique hybrids of rock, funk, and blues.
