| Sites primarily selling recordings should go to the appropriate Shopping subcategory. |
Style characterized by pleasant, soothing arrangements of familiar melodies. Reached its peak of popularity in the 1950s and 60s. Examples include string orchestrations by Percy Faith, choral recordings by Henry Mancini, and instrumental soloists such as pianist Peter Nero. Earlier, merchandisers and writers also included smooth vocalists who are not identified with rock, jazz, country or folk (for example, Perry Como and Andy Williams) but today these singers are generally classifed under a style called Vocal.
| This site is intended for relaxing instrumental music produced by a single artist or ensemble and that does not fit in the "Lounge" category. Wordless vocal music can also be included in this subcategory, otherwise you should consider the "Vocal" subcategory. State which instrument is primary, if it would help to categorize your site (e.g., the recording is guitar with some flute, but a listing in "guitar" category is desired). |
Easy listening instrumental music of all kinds can be found here including performances of newly composed music as well as instrumental renditions of favorites ranging from light classical to pop.
