German composer Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) was an organist and composer of keyboard music. He exerted a strong influence on J.S. Bach. His most famous composition is the Canon in D Major for 3 violins, harpsichord and double bass, often called "Pachelbel's Canon" or just "The Canon."
