Azerbaijani composer Franghiz Ali-Zadeh (1947-) studied piano and composition at the Baku Conservatory. As a pianist, she has played a vast array of others' compositions. As a composer, she has been awarded and honored throughout the world and has worked with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma and the Kronos Quartet.
