Shadows, The

The Shadows started out as the back up group for British pop star Cliff Richard. The original members in 1959 were Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch on guitars, Jet Harris on bass and Tony Meehan on drums. Numerous personnel changes over the years never diminished the Shadows reputation as a truly classic, mostly instrumental, rock band.

After working as a roadie/dancer/rapper for the Digital Underground, Tupac Amaru Shakur - a.k.a. 2Pac - releases his first solo album, "2Pacalypse Now", in 1991. During the next three years, Shakur appears in several movies, and in 1994 releases his second album, "Thug Life", followed by the multi-million-selling "Me Against The World" in 1995. He continues working as an actor, and in 1996 releases his fourth solo album, "All Eyez on Me", which debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart, selling a total of more than 5 million copies.

Tupac Shakur dies on September 13, 1996 - shot by unknown assailants after the Tyson/Holyfield fight in Las Vegas. He was 25 years old.
