Beginning in 1994, an anonymous Usenet poster calling himself "Publius" encouraged fans to examine "The Division Bell" for clues to a deeper mystery. Although various signs Publius predicted have appeared, members of the band have denied any involvement and said that the puzzle was not intentionally part of the album.
