Anthony Minghella - British movie writer, director and producer, born 6 January 1954, Ryde, Isle of Wight, England.

Movies include 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' (1999), 'The English Patient' (1996), and 'Truly Madly Deeply' (1991).

In 1997 he won an Academy Award and a BAFTA for best movie and best director for 'The English Patient'.

He was appointed a CBE in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
