In 1981, Michael started writing historical fiction due to his annoyance at historical inaccuracies in Western fiction. Kathleen had worked for the government as an historian and as an archeologist. She has twice received the federal government's "Special Achievement Award" for outstanding management of our nation's cultural heritage. Kathleen and Michael currently operate an anthropological research company called Wind River Archaeological Consultants. The authors are best known for the books in their "People" series.
