Top: Arts: Genres: Science_Fiction_and_Fantasy: Themes: Fantasy_Races_and_Creatures: Unicorns

This unicorn specific category is intended for (although not limited to) sites including fansites, community, art, sculpture, fantasy, books, resources, fiction, non-fiction, history, legend, and mythology. Sites may be a mix of content, combining fiction and non-fiction. This is a suitable category for mixed media, and contains information about television and film. Non-commercialized artist sites who specialize on the topic of unicorns are also welcome, as are sites about the Kirin (Japanese unicorn-like legend), karkadann (Indian or Persian unicorn), and such related creatures. Submitted sites should predominantly contain unicorn creature content.

Should sites be studies, theses, social analysis, oral tradition such as stories passed down from generation to generation, then please submit these sites to the more specialized category: Society/Folklore/Literature/Tales/Fabulous_Creatures/Unicorns

Elsewhere on the ODP, unicorn related information may be found on and submitted to The Last Unicorn, collecting and collectors, fantasy cyber pet adoptions, shops selling collectibles, and the Invisible Pink Unicorn (IPU).

If your site doesn't meet the above criteria, and is submitted here anyway, inclusion in the directory can be delayed by the sorting process. Please try to find the most specific category for your site before submitting.

Thank you, and please enjoy submitting your website.

more information (editors only)

Stories and belief of unicorns are ancient. Though in modern times they are considered to be white horses with one horn protruding from the forehead, they have in history and fiction taken on many different colours and shapes from wolflike to monstrous beasts. In the simplest terms, a unicorn is a creature, being, or beast with a horn or horns protruding from the head (forwards, backwards, or otherwise). There are plenty of fantastical variations.

Personal Pages

Sites submitted should contain predominantly unicorn creature content and include other personal information or interests such as hobbies, friends, family, personality, personal history, site awards and/or links.
Unicorn personal homepages often showcase the site author and their interests, especially showcasing their enthusiasm or belief of unicorns.
