Ackermann presents eponymous collections since 2002. His Spring-Fall 2003 tenure at Ruffo Research coincided with the final appointment at that label whose mission was to showcase fresh design talent by establishing annual directorships.

Adeli, Katayone

Katayone Adeli launced her New York line in 1997 after leaving the Los Angeles label Parallel. She quickly rose to status of industry-insider favorite though lack of financial backing forced the 2003 closure of her label.

Adrover, Miguel

(b. 1965; Calonge, Majorca)

Adrover became an instant darling of the fashion scene when he debuted in New York with his Fall 200 collection, attended by Alexander McQueen. The following season saw Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief at Vogue US, in the front row.

In 2000 the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded him the Perry Ellis Best New Designer Award.

Alaia, Azzedine

Azzedine Alaia delivers some of fashion's most eagerly anticipated collections though on a less than regular schedule and regardless a bent toward reclusivity. His design career had a lackluster start with stints at Christian Dior and Charles Jourdan, yet he is among the most revered figures in fashion today.
