The Apocalypse Saga of Revolutionary Girl Utena consistes of episodes 25-39 (the final one-third). In this final saga, various characters' true faces are revealed and the viewer learns the true nature of the events at Ohtori Academy.

The second story arc of Revolutionary Girl Utena marks the beginning of a noticably darker tone that continues through the remainder of the series. Several additional characters make their first appearance while another sequesters himself away.

The first 13 episodes of the 39 episode series have been commercially released in the United States and are commonly referred to as the "Student Council Saga".This arc is somewhat lighter in tone compared to the remainder of the series, and since it is the only one that has been released, many mainstream reviews deal strictly with this segment.
